Driving Recovery Across Region 5
The Region 5 Recovery Hub staff are touring DDAP's Region 5 Recovery Hub counties* and are eager to observe your recovery processes in action! We would like to attend your events throughout the entire month of September.
The Recovery Hub is dedicated to spearheading the ‘Driving Recovery Across Region 5’ initiative, which aims to establish and nurture a network of support within the community. Our commitment is to provide comprehensive resources, implement effective harm reduction strategies, and advocate for the de-stigmatization and integration of individuals affected by Substance Use Disorder (SUD).

Recovery Hike and Butterfly Release
This event is dedicated to honoring the memories of those we’ve lost to addiction. This special gathering will take place amidst the serene beauty of nature, offering a peaceful space for reflection and healing.
Participants will embark on a gentle hike, symbolizing the journey of recovery and the strength found in community. At the culmination of our hike, we will release butterflies, each one representing a loved one who is no longer with us. This poignant moment serves as a reminder of their enduring presence in our hearts and the hope for a brighter future. Come together with others who understand, share stories, and find solace in the collective support of our community. Let’s walk, remember, and release together.

We're here to support you. PMHCA in conjunction with our sister organization The Pennsylvania Peer Support Coalition (PaPSC) have demonstrated a truly peer-run environment and have been awarded The Department of Drug and Alcohol Programs (DDAP) Region 5 Recovery Hub Grant, which started July 1, 2023. The Region 5 Recovery Hub will serve 13 counties: Adams, Bedford, Blair, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Lebanon, Mifflin, Perry, and York. PMHCA is a statewide membership non-profit organization dedicated to assisting anyone seeking treatment or support for a mental illness, regardless of where they are in the process of healing. We advocate, educate, and promote recovery in all forms and individuals can also receive training from PMHCA in subjects like specialized peer support, LGBTQIA+ Issues, mental health advance directives, trauma, and other topics. Supporting individuals through their unique recovery journeys is something PMHCA has been doing since our inception. We believe that human beings need to be treated through the whole health lens and we focus on making that clear in all the work we do. |
